About the Event

This event provides necessary information for teachers, school counsellors, and administrators to know in order to prepare students for learning. When our students are emotionally dysregulated, often due to traumatic events, they cannot engage their "thinking brain" or articulate their thoughts and feelings. This conference with Dr. Lori Brown will provide an interactive, practical environment for educators to learn about students' stress reponses, how to prevent emotional dysregulation and how to calm the fight, flight, or freeze survival response, when it occurs.

Lori has based this professional learning opportunity on her indepth doctoral presentation regarding trauma-informed teaching.

The facilitator was so knowledgeable! She went into detail about the brain and how it works. Her visuals helped and videos were helpful!
