Lori Brown, Psy.D.

Lori is an educator who has held various roles in the public school system and private counselling practice for 25 years. She has a background as a high school science teacher, guidance counsellor, registrar, and school administrator. Presently, she is the Trauma-Informed Educator Consultant for the Beaufort Delta Education Council in the N.W.T. Additionally, she taught Psychopathology, Psychopharmacology, and the DSM-5 to adults at Stenberg College for a term.

Lori's Story

Lori's doctoral work has included course work in psychopathology, assessment, multicultural counselling, positive psychology, learning and memory, motivation, consulting in health care and education, and psychopharmacology in addition to the core courses required for a Clinical Psychology Doctorate. Her extensive dissertation includes a systematic review of 136 recent research articles addressing the psychological repercussions of childhood trauma, academic effects, and components of school-based programming that has been implemented to meet the needs of affected youth while creating resilience.
